Summer's White Dresses
Summertime is synonymous with white dresses. And white dresses are perhaps the perfect answer to the age-old question: "What should I wear today?," because they are an easy choice for effortless style. Not only is Memorial Day the official signal for all of us to flock to wear white but summertime is the season for the most weddings from N.Y.C to L.A., so I can’t imagine the sheer number of white dresses sold already this month. Which just means designers are giving us many to shop for, brides and all. So what styles should you look for now to embrace carefree summer style? I’ve perused them all and rounded up my favorite breezy, lacy dresses for you, that to me just scream summer.

Look for strappy, off-the-shoulder silhouettes and lace or crochet detail that conjure island-hopping and romantic getaways. Embroidered styles are also plentiful just keep designs to a minimum for a crisper, clean palette. LoveShackFancy and Ulla Johnson are two brands offering the prettiest breezy, cotton styes. Off-the-shoulder and one-shoulder silhouettes keep things cool and flirty. Pair with white and neutral accessories, (straw bags are a favorite) to keep the palette soft and summery. I love a tassel or floral earring like the ones I’m wearing by Shashi which is such an on-trend and affordable accessories brand plus I wear a nude sandal like this go-to pair by Stuart Weitzman to elongate the legs.
I’m definitely wearing a lot more white since moving to L.A., although summers in NYC are just as hot and bring up longings for Coney Island boardwalk strolls. A crisp white dress is a classic choice for any summer getaway and I couldn’t help wear one on safari recently, Malibu Wine Safari that is! You can see a recap of the day from OOTD to wine-sipping with the animals and more fashionable adventures by following along in my Intsa-stories.
Miami is another city in particular that brings the heat and white into my wardrobe. I’ll never forget the first (and last) white party I attended in Miami, as part of the Tone It Up fitness retreat. (If you have not yet been introduced to the fitness power-BFF’s Katrina Scott and Karena Dawn, click here.) I purchased a lace Parker dress for the occasion to sale around Miami. The memory is such a fun one of a yacht-ful of girls who never felt better, all there to workout and celebrate our fitness journeys in head-to-white signing and dancing the night away. Here’s to a summer full of white dress parties for us all!
