Trend to Try: Sets for Summer

I have to admit I wasn’t ready for this trend when I first started seeing so many matching sets popping up in summer fashion this year. I was hesitant to give them a try. But with summer vacays and trips to the beach on my mind, I couldn’t resist diving in to these outfits that pair themselves. Here’s what matching sets have going for them… First of all they are a no-brainer outfit. Whether its tops with skirts, or pants, matching sets make the perfect beach buddies and travel companions. Just throw them into a suitcase and go.

I love the beachy-island feel of this one from Free People, and for here in California, it’s great for a casual beach trip. But I can also seeing myself wearing it on getaway in some place like Mexico for a fun fiesta vibe with its ruffles and cheery pink color. What I also love is that while I may have felt that a cropped off -the shoulder top was off limits past the age of 30, the high waist of the skirt makes up for lost fabric in my opinion.  

Besides going on vacation should mean getting away from the typical wardrobe or pressures of dressing for your routine. It’s the perfect time to experiment! Besides, what happens on style vacay, stays on style vacay. Or, just do what you want and bring your vacation style home!
