My Winter to Spring Outfit formula
I don’t know about you but all these back-and-forth temperatures in NY and L.A. have got me wondering when is the time to put away the winter clothes for good. So let’s talk transitional pieces. So how do you merge pieces from both spring and winter and stay on trend? Here’s one formula I’m loving now: midi dresses paired with a sock bootie. What gets you in the mood for spring like flowers!? A midi dress is cool enough for fairer temperatures but just add some tights or nude hose if you want to stay warm. And a sock bootie is comfy enough to wear without socks if you choose to on a mild day. And looks great with a leather or denim jacket thrown over come nighttime.

So what layering pieces can you break out of storage early? Tanks, tees and cardigans are obvious layers. But which pieces can be worn seamlessly from season-to-season? Here are a few of my favorites to inspire your winter-to-spring outfits. Fatigue jackets are lightweight so can be worn layered or alone and khaki green shades are subdued enough for winter but pair well with spring whites and ivories. A season-less trend I recently posted on is leopard, jewels tones are probably a better option than black to lighten things up. And another fashionable choice is chic winter white. And don’t feel like this means ivory, a white jean when paired with the nubby textures of knits and a bootie or even a pump is a definite nod to the season so don’t worry about an outdated rule. Try a head-to-toe monochromatic look or start slowly. It’s up to you. Here's a link to a few examples of street-style stars from Harper’s Bazaar. Happy almost spring!
