The Look of Lavender

There’s something about lavender for summer,  spring and even the transition into fall. Because injecting our wardrobes with some color and softening the palette with a lavender hue can feel both refreshing and calming season to season. Ever since Ultra Violet became the Pantone 2018 Color of the Year, designers have decided to go head-to-toe lavender with their looks. Hailey Baldwin in the March issue of Elle is one case in point and was major inspo for my look. And, thanks to Alice and Olivia, who has designed everything from pants to tops and jackets in one single lavender shade, I was able to go full-on pastel-pretty just as Baldwin did. I paired my Alice & Olivia separates with my favorite summer sandals, the all-white leather Leah by Marion Parke, but a lavender slingback could have easily been another option as the shade is everywhere this season. A Michael Kors bag with pops of deeper purple on the side completes the look.

One effect of paring monochromatic separates so seamlessly is, that you get the look of a jumpsuit, which is always effortless and chic. And then, all that’s left is to add a backdrop of purple spring blossoms!

What I love is that I can mix the stunning shade into my summer wardrobe by pairing the lavender halter-top with denim, and the pants with a crisp, white top. Also, you can incorprorate other sorbet shades with lavender to keep the look fresh and fashion-forward. All-in all it’s one stand-out color; endless summer OOTD possibilities! What do you think? Will you be wearing lavender this season? Let me know in the comments below.
